The parable of talents contains secret to God’s teachings on investment
“Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury” (Matt 25:27)
We haven’t been given our finances to bury and keep for the rainy day. No, we’ve been given our material possession to multiply through investment
Of what good will money be if it’s kept hidden until it’s needed, when one can multiply it no matter how little the gain may be? It’s still an addition and that’s what Christ is interested in
“He saw a fig tree by the side of the road and went to it but found nothing on it except leaves. So he said to the tree, ‘You will never again bear fruit!’ At once the fig tree withered” Matt 21:29
Christ is passionate about multiplication and He abhors stagnancy. Even nature rewards effort, as long as you are trying to do something, it may tarry but you will be rewarded for it one day
“Therefore take the talent from him and give it to the one who has ten, for the one who has will have more than enough. But the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken from him” Matt 25: 28 – 29
By my understanding, the above message means, when one is incapable of using what he or she has to create more, he will likely have it taken from him.
“For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away” (Matt 25 : 29)
The power to multiply resources is within you, it’s in your ideas which affects the choices you make with your finances. For those who make the wrong choice in using their money; they will have it taken away by the result of their decisions, those who refuse to use it will eventually squander what they thought they have
There’s no human being who doesn’t need money to purchase personal and other needs. If all you do with your income is to spend it, your needs may soon exceed your finances but if you live on a part of your income and invest another, you are less likely to broke in future.
Another thing worthy of note is that God will be pleased with you for making the most of what you have, and more opportunities will open up for you, because unconsciously you will be looking for new ways to invest part of your income and are more likely to grab investment opportunities when they come, unlike someone who hasn’t given it much thought
